Question Air Box

alright my dumbass needs help, i took the top off of my intake and i need to take the actual box peice off, and the skrew on the bottem just spins and i cant lift it out, is there something im missing here? thanks guys.

i think u are missing to pull it out really hard and the top screw close to the firewall.

use gloves... my hadn was hurt that way...

s!

Un-screw the plastic anchors as far as you can then yank the box out. Press it back in then screw it back down to reinstall.

Yep, the plastic screws are not meant to come out. They stay in place after you get them to spin freely. IIRC, there may be another screw you can take off near the rear left of the box(facing the D). After you get all screws undone, a good yank and the box will come off. And like gzuz suggested, use gloves if you're so inclined.

dan hes got a different engine than you and I do. . .

but yea pretty much what everyone above has said (i used to have an engine in that family)

so just yank it out, dont worry about that skrew thing at the bottem? i saw the other skrews and took them out and i didnt want to snap anything lol, but alright thanks for the help guys!

why not use vise grips to hold onto the stud?? are you reinstalling the filter box?? or are you upgrading?? either way the stud is toast so you might as well cut it out or something of the short..

Just pull out and loosen what you can then feel your oats and yank that thing already.

Really, I thought at least the airbox would be the same...

i think hes talking about the entire assembly, form the air box to the throttle body
