Unhappy engine swap 4.7 liter

I have a 2001 Dodge Durango with a 4.7 liter engine. Can I put a 5.9 l from a 1999 Durango in my 2001.

If you call the parts dept at your local dealer they can tell you. If not call the wreckers and they will tell you. I think you can but ask around before you do all that work.

A) yes, but you will need to change the following
1)engine
2)transmission
3)wire harness
4)PCM
in most cases it is easier to just put a new 4.7l in for both cost and work involved in doing the swap

B) this needs to be in the 1st generation section, ill move it for you this time but really could someone tell my why they have ignored the sticky which is title "READ THIS FIRST"????????

Not to mention you'd need to re-do all ignition settings as the setup on the 4.7 is worlds apart from the 5.9 engine. Like shrp said it would be more cost effective just to replace the 4.7 with another 4.7 because the amount of work involved you might as well buy a crate engine.

My pops always told me go big or go home. I've gone big and now its time to go home.
