Default 02 durango drivers side window messed up..

it's still on track it seems, and motor still turns and stuff.

but it's totally loose.i can move it all the way up and down with my hands, and if i don't hold the window up with something it will fall straight down.

i need a diagram or something since i can't see the inside of the door. i found a little plastic piece loose on the bottom part on the inside of the door. i see a cable that moves too when you go up and down on the windows switch.

can anyone help...don't wanna take it to the dealer.

i've managed to take off the door panel and plastic so i'm past that..

just need to figure out how this all work

it takes more than 4 hours for us to get to you, we dont sit around waiting for you, we just do this in our free time

and how about a picture of the plastic piece, it sounds to me like the cable which moves the window broke in your door, id go to a junkyard and see if i could find the track assembly with the guides and the cable and the works (this is what we had to do to my sisters beetle when the window broke)

looks to me like one of the cable guides, you will probably have to replace the whole assembly as the cable is more than likely damaged when it came off the guide, just go to a junkyard and see what they have, shouldnt cost too much to get a new power window assembly

I had the same problem on the other side, you have to replace the whole assembly, pretty easy and about $80 at the part store

Those break all of the time. You can only buy the whole assembly. It's pretty easy to do. Lots of write ups out there. don't go to the dealer. It is ridiculously priced. Search online or see if your local Car Quest can get it for you. I replace mine almost every two years. It's sad that they haven't upgraded that part of the assembly.

That looks like the right one. A basic set of instructions come with it. After removing the door panel and plastic, you'll see the original is only held on with 3 bolts and a wire connector. You can get a chilton manual for 19 dollars that will show you step by step if you can't find directions on the internet.
