Never saw the re-post, sorry.


Could be a bad crank shaft sensor located under the distributor cap.

Just a silly question. But did you gap at .040 inches?

Dans01, that is a silly question, but I did gap them correctly. one thing weird happened today though, I started my truck today to go to town and I noticed right away that the CEL is off. Do I have some gremlins in this truck or what.

Surging is usually a sign of a bad TPS.
