awesome!!! i will call today to get a new gasket and get that done today!!! i bought some of that injection cleaner yesterday so after i get this throttle body cleaned and the PCM reset ill throw that in as well!
the post about resetting the PCM stated that it takes 12 starts and 48 miles to fully retune the PCM... does that mean after resetting it, it POSSIBLY can still unefficient until that mark is reached?!? if so ill be sure to put the miles on it and get it started as much as possible! thanks everyone, ill put up updates when i finish!

Then you shut her down and restart and that insures the operational procedures. This is why you can drive now.
Now the next 48 miles and 10 starts will set all perimeters in stone in the PCM. Now I have had a single episode where the PCM didn't fully set in stone until 304 miles as the 8 MPG finally got through it. The numbers are normal re-learn times but it can go farther.
Will it run un-efficient? Yes it can, however most of the time the most efficient burn will be accomplished at around the 12/48 cycles as stated but you should notice a major improvement off the get go.

ok perfect! that helps alot!!! like i said i did reset the PCM before i got a new battery yesterday, as of now, it seems to run a bit better but still sputters every NOW AND THAN but hasnt died yet...
as for taking apart the throttle body and cleaning it again and reseting the PCM again, im stuck till tuesday cause the gasket has to be "special ordered".... unless i find a parts store around me that has one im dealing with the D, im still looking though!!!

did your wife cut off your right foot when she saw the gas bill?????, cause that would help with the 8 mpg, that or putting a brick under the gas pedal

That day really SUCKED! I bought a new TPS and installed it to fix the erratic idle. I filled the truck and reset the PCM after the .72 volt modification and clean TB.
I could tell she was runnin rich but let her go. Got to about 150+ and she was close to empty and I thought "Holly ****!" I was thinkin about pulling it and thought I'd give her another chance as I have heard that it can take longer. I figured I'd give it to 300 then deal with it. Well I filled her again and I was runnin at 15.8 mpg.
For some reason (I have no idea) it waited and I felt if I filed it one more time I might as well kiss my ********* goodbye......LOL

You can wait or just get some gasket material and cut you own. I bought a roll from NAPA for like $10 of some nice thick black kinda rubber/paper mixed like material and traced out the old gasket with a pencil. Then I cut it with a razor and the holes you can punch out with a hole punch and even nibble pieces off with the hole punch.
My gasket are VERY hard to find so I've been making my own. Personally, I like them better but they aren't so perfect as bought ones but you have more flexibility, their cheaper, and always in stock......LOL

awesome! well after making a gasket and getting all together with a good clean, resetting the PCM once again, its still running the same ol' way, not dying but its still sputtering down! im starting to lose hope on this, im not sure where else to look or try to fix without spending an arm and a leg... its starting to feel like its going to get very very expensive... any other idea's anyone!?!?
