Your manual states that Trac-Lok LS differential was available. To ensure you do NOT have a LS differential simply jack up the rear end under the differential so both wheels are off the ground and turn one wheel. If both wheels spin the same direction then you have a LS rear end. If the wheels spin in different directions then it's a simple Open Gearing (not LS) and you do not have to add the Friction Modifier.

There should also be ID tags on the differential bolts. 1 stating the gearing ratio, and 1 stating if it is LS if it is. But sometimes they are removed by idiots!

As a final analogy, I have NOT seen a chrysler 8 1/4 rear end with the LS option.

Then it should be Open Gearing as the 3.55's never came with LS. But just lift it to ensure to be safe.

I checked and it does not have a slip. For simplicity I am glad that is is not a slip but I would have liked to have one, or even 4x4.

Thank you for your help.

No problem.

Just a swap of fluid then. Think about it this way, the Troc-Lok really wasn't a good LS anyway so your not missing out or anything unless you drive on snow and ice all the time.....IMHO.
