Default changing diff and steering fluid

What fluid do I use.

For the steering fluid, How does the fluid flow, I would like to take off one of the hoses and put it in a quart of new fluid and have the pump suck the new fluid into the system.

Thanks guys

Just found it in the manual that it takes +4 and 75W90. Can I use Walmarts Supertec syn 75W90?

Depending on your axle housing size:

REAR AXLE
8 1/4 in. 2.1L (4.4 pts.)**
9 1/4 in. 2.3L (4.9 pts.)**
**When equipped with Trac-lok, include 148 ml (5 oz.)
of Friction Modifier.

I would use Mobil One Full Synthetic 75W-90 LS on the rear and front diff. If the rear is a Limited Slip then install 70z of friction modifier. Both can be found at Auto Zone. Friction Modifier (for LS rear end) 7oz bottle is $4.99 and fluid is like $4.50 for 1 qt.

Thank you, do you know which hose I can use to flush the steering system.

I can just suck out old and refill the bottel but that is not as good as having fresh fluid circulate and flush out the old.

The smaller diameter one should be the pressure side.

When i did mine I sucked it out then replaced. Again, then again. I tried to do that and it was more of a mess then anything. Then again you should have a R&P steering so you could take off a line down on the axle and let it pour out then replace a few times.

no not all durangos came with limited slip differentials, actually if i had to guess i would say that most of them did NOT come with the option, but we have to mention it bc otherwise most people wouldnt think to check
