Default Steering column universal replacement

Looking for information on replacing the universal on the lower end of the steering column shaft. This is the one that connects shaft to the steering rack. I thought the rack had failed but is is the center of the universal that is coming apart and give extreme steering wheel play

Anyone changed this piece?

Just went to the local Chryco dealer....seems this is called the intermediate shaft and there are none if Canada! been on b/o for over two months...yet if this little universal breaks you will loose all steering control......nice!

Just a note to those that think the extra play is due to the steering rack...check this universal first.....half the price and way more important to have right

As far as I know you cannot simply replace the U-joints in the Intermediate Shaft. (well I haven't found the replacement U-joints).

Try a junk yard or some suppliers in the States. The dealership is ALWAYS on b/o.
