Broken Part
Hey guys.
I need your help. 2000 Durango SLT 4.7 92,000 miles. A couple of months ago i noticed that a tube that connected to the air intake had broken. I didn't worry about it at the time b/c i figured if it was serious the check engine light would've come on. But, now that it is getting to be summer and I am using the air con more i notice my engine gets a little too hot too easy. I am hesitant to take it to my dodge dealer b/c dealers for some reason believe that people who own cars are made of money. I have attached pics. The are not the best but there is a number on the tube. I wondered if you guys might be able to help me out. People like Hydra and Indy seem to know more about the Almighty Durango than the guys who built the cars. Basically, I would like to know if it is something i should get fixed asap. Any opinions welcome.
Thanks guys. Long Live the DURANGO!

based on those pictures (im the 4.7 expert around these parts since hydra and indy both have 5.9s :/) it looks to me like one of the vacum hose, you should be able to measure the inside diameter of the hose and get a piece from the auto store to replace it, it will eventually throw a code, im surprised that you dont have one already, but a simple piece of hose SHOULD fix it,
now im basing my diagnosis on the pictures, if thats not it, i will be more than happy to trace some hoses under the hood of mine for you as soon as i get home next week

Which ever route you go to get the replacement hose(s). Make sure to get ones that are rated for gasoline. Cause emissions has gas fumes in it and over time, the fumes will eat away from the regular rubber hoses. JMHO.
