Question Transfer case?

I have a 2000 Durango Sport, it has been running fine until tonight. I put it in reverse and there was a scrapping sound. I put it in drive it drove forward as I drove it forward it felt like my front end wasn't really going and there was scrapping sounds. It didn't feel like it was my transmission more like the front just wasn't going? There was no fluid under where it was parked and up until now it wasn't acting up in any way. Any ideas?

well since this seems to be drivetrain related, knowing what drivetrain you have would help

engine size, transmission, 4x4, 4x2 ect (anything that you know, if you need help figuring anything out let us know we will point you in the right direction)

Correct,

The 4.7L was available starting in 2000 with the removal of the 5.2L in 1999. It was available in both 4X4 and 2WD from everything I've read. The sport series was the bottom end of the spectrum. I believe it goes like this:

2000+

Sport
SLT
SLT+
R/T

Now in the Ram was different.

Correct but NO SPORT in 2000

Before someone says it, NO SXT in 2000 either.

It should be:
Trim levels
1998–2003 - SLT
1998–2003 - SLT PLUS
2001–2003 - Sport
2001–2003 - SXT
1999–2003 - R/T

Hey Indy, isn't the the Sport and SXT lower level trim models than the SLT from 2001-2003? I thought that the SXT started in 2002.

Could be. I thought Sport and SXT were interchangeable. Dunno.
