Default 99 Durango Stalls While Decelerating/Turning

I was fixing my Durango last week and after putting new brakes and rotors on I wanted to find out why my ABS/Brake lights kept coming on. So I reset the computer by unplugging the battery and the like.

I didn't drive it for a week and came back to find out that it stalls when decelerating and taking turns. It happens ever 5-10 minutes or so. It is not hard to restart and after reading some forums I also do not get the "NOBUS" code or any of the starting problems.

I was wondering what it may be and what I should start to look at to solve this as it is spitting no codes and is really dangerous at this time.

I've heard a million different things it could be but I would like to know what I should try first and how to figure this out.

Thank you all. If you have any questions to clarify what I said just ask.

If you did not drive it after disconnecting the battery, the PCM is back in the relearning mode. Just drive it for a while and it should return back to normal. If your ABS/Brake lights kept coming on, you should have pulled the codes for that and then cleared it with a reader instead of disconnecting the battery to do a hard reset.

i agree with pete, give it a full tank of gas to see if the computer will just relearn everything it needs to keep you going.

In your honest opinion how long may this take because it literally stalls every 5 minutes or so. I really just need to know when I should take it in if it doesn't start, or what next action I should take

Like shrpshtr35 says, it will tank a full tank of gas or less. It should not affect the starting side of the engine, it is just the PCM relearning the TPS and IAP position. Sometimes a reset will take right away and sometimes it takes a while, just keep driving it around for a bit. I know that if people do not have readers to read codes and after a fix, they will do a hard reset like you did, but next time, take it to AutoZone and have them do a reset with a reader or borrow one from a friend. I know that this is frustrating and on Mitsubishi's, they do the same thing on a hard reset or battery change.

The basic learn part should have been finished at first start. Did you follow these rules? https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ine-light.html

Next, I have seen many electrical issues start by removal of the battery cables or (unknown reasons) which I blame on grounding or like reasons. In these strange instances I have seen people replace the Crankshaft Sensor to fix the issue. However with this being a "stall" issue and not a no-start issue, I would say pull the Throttle Body and clean it out real good. Replace the gasket and clean the IAC and re-install or replace it. Then reset again and follow the instructions I posted. ^^^^ Ensure that the port where the IAC mounts in is very clean. Don't push in the plunger at the end of the IAC. Here is instructions on cleaning the TB. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ttle-body.html
