I'm just starting out modding my '02 4.7, and read one of the less expensive upgrades is the 180 degree Thermostat. I've seen the Robert Shaw ones mentioned a couple of times, but can't find one anywhere. Jet makes one, but not for the 4.7, and even getting a higher temp Tstat at the auto parts store was $22(!) and had to be special ordered. I didn't think it would be this hard to find a seemingly common $9 part, but evidently it is.

Found my own answer-----there are no 180tstats anymore for the 4.7, just gotta get one for the 5.8 and cut a notch, drill a hole to match the 4.7 and it doesn't sound too hard.

 

What will the 180 thermostat do for it anyway.
I have a 4.7Magnum 05 Dak & just interested on what this could do for me.
