Engine upgrade for my R/T
Alright, I got ahold of Dan. I decide to let him be the guy to build up my 5.9. He is going to write up a build sheet for me for his complete 408 buildup. We're discussing around 500+ HP! Time to discuss with my CFO wife to get budget approval for next year to start the build from Dan!
So far, from what we talked about, he has a 408 shortblock with most of the goodies, he did not list yet, and proposed edelbrock alum CNC ported heads. I will keep this thread up to date as I get more information and when the project starts. Dan will take some pics and vid clips all the way thru the build process and will take a vid of this engine going thru the dyno to show what kind of HP it will make for the money you put in!
500+ HP will be my target goal and the 408 will still be tame enough to be a every day drivable vehicle. I won't be going carb setup and try to keep MPI/TB setup to keep everything under the hood to "appear" stock!
As far as retirement goes??? If I play my cards right and the economy goes the right way, I am going to retire in my 50's. I am in my 40's so not too far away! haha. My home will be paid off in 3-4 more years so that is the moment I will be looking hard at a future Challenger or whatever badass SRT vehicle chrysler will put out.

Hey you not getting a Challenger may be a blessing in disguise... I hear Dodge may be close to producing a Challenger SRT... wait for it... 10!!!! I read in Road and Track magazine that they don't want to let the Viper engine die, so why not throw one in a Challenger? I know this appeared at the 2008 SEMA show, but it was "recently spotted" on the road so who knows???
Once approved, here are some things discussed on the build
Dan's 408 shortblock
Edelbrock alum CNC custom ported heads
Edlebrock Air Gap intake manifold
Fastman's 53mm TB
Project problaby won't start until near end of this year. So it gives me plenty of time to do further research and discussion with Dan on how to build this up.

If you don't want to wait, go drop 18k at mopar online and get a ready to swap full crate 6.4 hemi that makes 525 HP!
When this project is done, I may need to go change my insigina on my R/T 5.9 to R/T 6.7! That will be the eyecatcher that many may overlook until it's too late!
I cannot wait for this project to take off. I will be having dan send pics of the build process from begin to end so we all can watch his work!
