Default Engine upgrade for my R/T

Welp, looks like I will not be seeing my brand new Challenger SRT anytime soon as my wife has other investments in mind! But she agreed that as I am not getting my new toy, she will let me upgrade my current ride!!!! So I will be doing alot of research this year and my upgrade project will start on 2011 after gathering all the info.

For the 5.9? Should I blow it or stroke it? No puns please! haha

I am in limbo on the upgrade. I want a really badass powerupgrade but still be able to be a everyday ride. Kinda go for the sleeper stalker mode! all look stock outside, but all power inside. Depending on what budget my wife will give me, I may just have to upgrade my 5.9 as much as I can, r/t alum heads, cam, intake and possibly supercharger, or replace it with a prefabed mopar stroker engine and add the modern tech back on it.

Stroker!

My rig was all OEM looking. I kinda like that more as you watch the ricers and others get left in the dust!

I am thinking of stroking it too. Reading around the net, it is not hard to stroke the 360 to 408. But problem is what setup I would look for to get the power range I want while keeping MPI fuel injection.

I was looking at crate engines from mopar and noticed the complete crate engine 6.4 hemi for $18k! damn. But it gets you 520 HP. But I think for 18k, I can get as much or more HP with a stroked 408 and maybe supercharger setup. That is my power target. 500+hp to really push my AWD really fast while keeping my D a everyday drivable vehicle.

Another question. Any users here in the DFW area know of any specialized Mopar shop? If and when I plan to do this, I want to do these upgrades only from a Mopar specialized shop. At least I will get a better accurate opinions from them to help me decide where I want to go with my D.

Just stroke the 360 or get the Crate (think it's a 408) performance motor from the OEM performance center as an option. Then get a new intake and larger injectors.

Kensai:

My vote would be to stay away from Turbo and supercharging for the simple reason that you can spend thousands of dollars, and never get it to run right.

A mild warm up with different heads and a cam, or the more intensive stroker option would be as far as I would go.

The less you spend on your D which will be your everyday machine, the more you can set aside for the day you get to add that Charger/Challenger or whatever to your fleet.

I recall as a teen learning the lesson that you don't want to have to fix your everyday driver all the time, and having a pretty much oem set of wheels that you just take real good care of and drive is the way to go as long as you are of the working class.

Now, retirement would/could be a horse of a different color......
