My D has this popping sound when my steering wheel is locked to either side what may be making this sound? I can also feel it in the steering is it the chunky sway bar moving around in the bushings? or is it something else?

It is the intermediate and upper steering shafts. There is a TSB to flip it over and that may solve the issue **OR** you can live with the sound as I have since 2005. My 'knocks' at about 10 & 2 as I turn slowly out of a parking lot for example.

haha, i can live with the sound, i was just wondering if it was something very serious that needed attention. if it jut makes a sound then i dont care lol. thanks

 

it's just the way it is unless you follow the TSB. I just lived with it.


If it is only a small tap and has been there the whole time anyway.
