Default Rancho RS9000XL Shocks

Anyone know if they're compatible with the 2WD D? I have a 2000 with the 5.9 if that makes a difference with anything.

you should be able to get a set for the 2wd truck, but the fronts are different than on the 4x4 model

So you think if I were to get RS9000XL on the back and maybe RS5000 on the front that would work on the back? I know from the rancho website the 5000 are compatible. Mainly looking for the 9000s adjustibility to make it stiff for towing, and soft for highway driving.

i believe that would work,

but keep in mind that the 2wd trucks did use shorter shocks in the back than the 4x4s (3/4 of an inch shorter according to napa) so they might not ride like you expect, im sure duranged or indy will have more info for you on this when they see the thread

Why not go for Bilstein shocks. You will not get any better towing capability with an adjustable shock, only a different ride is all?

Indeed, I'm not looking for any better towing capabilities. Just for when I'm pulling my 4000 pound trailer going thru the hills of Tennessee, get the best ride as possible.

4000 lbs should not have a huge effect on these trucks if you look at the tow capacities you are just over half way there with the 5.9

I understand they have great towing capacity for their size, I just am in need of replacing the shock absorbers anyways, both front and back because they have a horrible bounce so was just looking for the best in everyone opinion.

Follow up: ended up puting Monroe shocks on it. Got the reflex for the front and the sensa trac weight adjusting spring loaded on the back and it rides perfect. Couldn't ask fr a better ride than I'm getting now. It's amazing how it rides better with weight on the tail too!
