Default 99 D 5.9l rocker arm noise.

i beleive that its my rocker arms making the noise im hearing. i need to know how to tell which ones it is once i have the valve cover off. plus how to go about replacing them and adjusting them. any help would greatly be apreciated. i am very good at working on engines but this is something i havent done before so i obvously need some direction to not ruin my engine. thanks, leif.

what noise are you hearing? if you share that we might be able to confirm your diagnosis or point you to something cheaper.

There is no adjustment on a 5.9L engine. If you have an issue with a rocker you need to pull it out and replace the Pushrod and Rocker (also tapet if bad) then torque the bolt on the rocker to 21 ft lbs torque.

Could be a spark plug or blown Plenum Gasket. Are you using more oil than usual?

Sounds like you know for sure it's not a Plenum Gasket. If you think it's fuel related try a octane level up at a Chevron station and see if it goes away?

If not guess you need to look at the rockers.
