your thermostat is stuck open, and possible not all the way open. a healthy t-stat will help your car warm up to operating temperature faster and if you ever have to drive up north it will let you have heat in your car when it gets really cold out. Also if and when you replace it you can see the condition of your cooling system, you may also need a flush. I suggest getting a 180 degree t-stat vs. the stock 200 or whatever stock is..

i believe stock is 190, and on the 4.7 you have to be careful when replacing the t-stat bc if you get one without the weep hole it will cause problems, and 180 stats are hard to find with that weep hole in them
but also a bad stat would show up in long warm up times(might throw a code for that im not 100% sure) and a slightly high running temp (if its stuck partially open) he claims his is runing a little low of center (which is where it belongs under normal driving conditions)
