I know some stuff not all thats why I was asking. When I first got a straight pipe in place of my muffler it sounded horrible. I saw another guy with a 3 inch pipe after the cat it sounded much better. He had the same engine as me and same year but his was a dakota. I realzied aftwards that larger pipe sounds different from smaller pipe.

But my questions where these

1.) Cut off the tail pipe and dump the exhuast right after the super 44. There is about 3-4 ft of tail pipe? it runs out the back now and i want it to dump roughly underneath the rear side passenger seat.

2.) Right after my super 44 increase the pipe size from 2.25 to 3.00 inches. I have a 3.5 inch by 18 inch tip so it would be 3 inches until it gets to a 3.5 inch tip. Since those tips are supposed to make an echo effect would it not help to get bigger piping after the super 44?

If I do either of these to my exhaust I still have my cat converter and my muffler. I just wanna know if it will help doing either of these. I dont exacty have a million dollars to just throw away but I wanna do something more with it. But reading your last post I figure you're not coming back to this post.

Also Same to you Shrpshtr325, i wish my knowledge for my truck was as expansive as yours, but its not. I'm trying to learn. No one can tell me that i'm not.

Hey Josh...

Coming from have just about every year Mustang and being that you can't have a Mustang without doing any kind of exhaust mod I can tell you that these guys are right about having back pressure. I hear where you are coming from and I agree with you about having your cat and muffler as being enough back pressure and it is... enough said

Now, as I read and from what your questions you are asking if there is any way if you can make it any lower and louder than your current configuration and the answer is only marginally.

You are on the right track on making your exhaust pipe bigger after the muffler, but it will be only a marginal difference at that. You can make it more aggresive sounding by taking the pipe completely off from the muffler back and running a turn down after the muffler. That will make it louder, lower and deeper, but you may not like the sound and it may be just a little weird coming from a Durango too. You can also change the series Flowmaster muffler as that will give you a deeper tone

Honestly, I've listened to both of your videos and I personally feel that it sounds great the way it is. You really don't want to go too much louder than that being that Minneapolis PD will get you for it.

If you really want to go louder and deeper than you are going to have to shell out some $$$. You will need to get new heads with bigger valves, cam, intake manifold, headers and free flow cat. That will surely make it louder and lower.

I live in Minneapolis so if you wanted to ever meet up, just let me know.

Hey guys, Yeah i realize that what you guys said about back pressure, but i just feel if i still have my cat and my flowmaster muffler then changing the pipe length afterwards cant really effect it THAT much can it? I mean i came here knowing you guys no more so thats why i ask. And i realize you guys think i shouldnt do anything.
