My husband wants to attempt pushing the 4WD back to 2WD. Where underneath the Durango is the 4WD so he can attempt this?

 

Well right underneath the 4wd shifter on the floor. Just look right below it under the truck an you will see where the linkage is, just have some one inside trying to push it toward the 2wd position an tap on it with a hammer from underneath (lightly) this may pop it lose an go back in. if not he will need to pop the bar out of the clip that is coming from the shifter from inside the truck. once you do this you should be able to move it into 2wd position...
