Autozone is $80 for the bearing, Ebay is $29 shipped. Mine started growling too, so I am going to replace the bearing.

You can always go pull a clutch off a bone yard. Did ya call NAPA or Auto Zone?

I have a friend who is going to do it....I thought about the boneyard thing but they say you need a special tool to remove the clutch. Anyway, I will now have a spare compressor. Maybe I should sell it?

Replacing clutch bearings is a PITA. This was one of my first projects to learn when I was taking my A/C HVAC class back in high school. It was alot of fun from the learning experience. Did it several times myself not on the Durango tho. It was a couple hour job and you have to have a special tool to hold the clutch from moving when you are removing the bolt and also need a special puller to pull the clutch out without damaging the drive pulley.

I do not rate this job as a usual DIY project. LOTS of smaller parts and lock rings that needs to be in the right place. One screw up will cost ya more than a possible compressor.

Default Along these lines

Not to hi-jack a thread, but where can I find the a/c lines for an '03 4.7? Besides the dealership, I cant seem to find them anywhere.
