+1 for Sharps! Feeler gauges work the easiest. Vernier calipers Sharps.

hey give me a break pete, im an engineering student, not an english major, spelling is optional (right? )

and my dad is a cnc machinist, so i grew up around all the specialized precision tools (and have access to alot of them, but not torque wrenches for some reason . . .)
