Default 98 Durango A/C swap

Due to the weak A/C system in fist gen durangos (i have a 98), can i take the complete A/C system (evap, condensor, compressor, etc.) out of a 2004 or newer durango and put it in my 98? It blows cold, but has always been like this since i bought it in 99. My wife is driving me crazy about the A/C. She wants to sell the truck. Over my dead body!! Thanks

Add a GOOD efan, get the AC serviced and recharged. Should be better than new.

The 98 just is too hot with out an efan to keep the AC cold. Set the eFan controller to always on and increase to high speed on AC usage.

Very doubtful a Gen2 AC anything is going to work on the original Gen1 98.

i would not expect a gen 2 a/c to work on a 98-00 1st gen, the engine isnt even the same so the lines are not going to be even close to the same routing

i second what indy said

I toid what Indy said! Install heavy duty efan with an aftermarket fan controller with a temp probe to control the efan. You and wifey will be much cooler and she'll be much happier.

The 1998 an 1999 do not have a electric fan OEM so it has to be added. Also you can install a new clutch fan if needed.
