I bought a CD player off a radio of an 05 SRT8 for my 02 Durango and I realized that the connectors are different... is there an adapter I can purchase to make this work?

Have you tried best buy? Or crutchfield for aftermarket connectors?

 

I haven't... but I cant imagine they would... i'm technically keeping it OEM...

 

off of an 05 srt what? i think chrysler motors change the mounting interface between the years you are looking at (the size of the faceplate/opening in the dash)

but i agree with dan, bestbuy or crutchfield, you may have to buy a couple of adapters and do some soldering to make it work, if it can be done at all.

still would like to know exactly what you are trying to do??

 

The headunit that came in my Durango is a tape player... the one on the newer models has a cd player... it basically looks the same as far as size so it fits perfectly, with the exception of the harness, which is very different from both years....

the chances of an 05 radio fitting into an 02 dash without cutting the dash is 0 (unless you have found one from an srt vehicle that i missed, if so please correct me, but show proof if you do, pics will suffice)

^^interesting! That is what i was told! .... but it looks like the Durango's oval shape except its a CD player... so now I dont know what year it came from! (CraigList purchase)
