Default P0750

So today after driving back from a friend's bbq. I noticed the D shifting weird. Then the cel came on. During stop and go, she felt like she wa slipping at the clutch cause there was revving but hardly any going. Got home safely the the family and put the scanner to her. Code came back P0750. I was like "Crap, tranny issue." I look it up and it's LR Solenoid Circuit for a 45RFE tranny and Shift Solenoid A. I was trying something someone said about taking the D off overdrive during speeds under 40-45 mph. Could that have contributed to the code? So anyway, after I do the tranny shift/check fluid level thing, the D drives like normal with normal shift points. My questions are: How can I address this problem and why/how did it correct itself? How hard is it to replace/repair the solenoid in the tranny? Any and all help is appreciated.

i replaced a solenoid in my trans about a year ago, had similer issues, was fairly simple, about $90 (including filter, gasket and oil) just had to drop the pan, pull the two bolts holding the filter, then like 3 or 4 small torque screws holding the solenoid in... if I remember right it was the black solenoid, not the silver one... the overdrive solonoid.

if the fluid level is good, and the fluid is not burnt then idk what caused it, but driving around w/ OD off (when it shouldnt be in OD anyway) will NOT CAUSE PROBLEMS (come on, ask me how i know )

beyond that i think you need to talk to master tech

Haven't experience that kind of problem, which i'm thankful of. lol. Tranny problems are quite hard and expensive.

Symptom:
P0750-LR SOLENOID CIRCUIT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P0750-LR SOLENOID CIRCUIT
When Monitored: Initially at power-up, then every 10 seconds thereafter. The solenoids
will also be tested immediately after a gear ratio or pressure switch error is detected.
Set Condition: Three consecutive solenoid continuity test failures, or one failure if test is
run in response to a gear ratio or pressure switch error.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
RELATED RELAY DTC’S PRESENT
INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS
L/R SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
TRANSMISSION RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
L/R SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
L/R SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
L/R- SOLENOID/TRS ASSEMBLY
TCM - L/R SOLENOID CIRCUIT
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 NOTE: Low fluid level can be the cause of many transmission problems. If
the fluid level is low locate and repair the leak then check and adjust the
fluid level per the service information.
NOTE: Always perform diagnostics with a fully charged battery to avoid
false symptoms.
With the DRBIIIt, read the engine DTC’s. Check and repair all engine DTC’s prior
to performing transmission symptom diagnostics.
With the DRBIIIt, read Transmission DTC’s. Record all DTC’s and 1 Trip Failures.
NOTE: Diagnose 1 Trip Failures as a fully matured DTC.
Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
Repair as necessary.
Perform the Shift Lever Position Test. If the test does not pass, refer to Symptom test
for P0705 Check Shifter Signal.
For Gear Ratio DTC’s, check and record all CVI’s.
Most DTC’s set on start up but some must be set by driving the vehicle such that all
diagnostic monitors have run.
Note: Verify flash level of transmission controller. Some problems are
corrected by software upgrades to the transmission controller.
NOTE: Check for applicable TSB’s related to the problem.
Perform this procedure prior to Symptom diagnosis.
45RFE AUTO
TRANS

I do have the rest of this on PDF file, if wish to have it. I'll just need your email address to send it too. It could be the solenoid pack, but also be a wiring problem too.

MT, thanks for the insight. But could I have reset the tranny by doing the shift lever position test? I had the D running and on and fully ebraked. Tested all positions of the lever, checked the fluid level while at neutral. All seemed good and after a short shut down, went for a short test drive and all shift points were back to what I remembered. Ever since then, no issues.

Any time a electronic transmission goes into limp-in or fail safe. The next key cycle the transmission will reset, until you go into limp-in again. You will have the stored code, until it becomes active. The stored code will leave the controller after 255 key starts.
