I can put the transfer case in N and the trans in D and u can here the chatter or when you are driving down the road. When I put into 4 wheel drive its like its wanting to slip in and out.Can anyone help!!!!

Why don't you try to replace your transfer case.

The 2000 was a change over year so there could be a lot of different T-cases in that model. Besides, if he rebuilds it he knows what he has. The last shop that rebuilt mine was like $750 installed.
