All those are there to keep water away.

Low pressure is built up under the truck when its moving forcing the hot air out.

If you want the hot air out after you have stopped and shut down. Open the hood. I babied my Mazda this way.

think you meant high pressure under the hood (fan is pulling MORE air into engine bay, movement pushes more air into engine bay, more air in constant volume = high pressure), but yes that does plenty well enough to push the heat out while moving

Nope, it's low pressure, but I won't argue.

low pressure under the hood would be pulling fresh air in from outside the car(higher pressure) that air IS cooler, no doubt about it, but if you look at it, the air is being forced in at the speed the car is moving (approximately) which will raise the pressure under the hood in relation to the atmospheric pressure outside the vehicle, this will force the hot air out by the cold air which is being pushed in

The low pressure is under the truck, not under the hood. You'll figure it out.

Best way to get rid of heat under the hood is get a 2" cowl hood. Not only that, they look cool too!!

As high as the Durango's sit, there is minimal low pressure under the vehicle versus a lower to the ground car. The lower to the ground, the more low pressure.

very true does anyone know if they make a hood like the ls1 SS camaro hood's? it would also be kinda neat to cut out the grooves in the hood so there open.

do you happen to know if anyone on here has a 1st gen durango with the rear stock height but front lowered a bit to give it a muscle car stance?
