Default Towing package and brake assist

High,
Just got a bright red 98 Durango with the Magnum V8 5.9l engine. it came with the towing package from the factory.
I plan to tow a 20ft camper that has the electric brakes. Well I ran a meter on the brake assist pins of the tow connector and it appears that I have to install a brake assist unit. Any ideas whether the wiring would have been installed in the factory to make life simple for me, or will I have to dig in and run some wiring?

Hey thanks,
currently the truck is getting new tires.
But in the meant time i have found a adapter cable made by Drawtite that looks like it should be a quick install if the wire is there.
Thanks for the help.

There is a light blue harness with 4 wires in it directly above the E-brake on top of the wiring block or close to it. You can get an adapter!

Here is the controller: http://www.tekonsha.com/content/products.aspx?lvl=2&parentid=1400&catID=1435%20&pa rt=0

Here is the harness: http://www.rvwholesalers.com/catalog...0-17-0058.html

This is a harness that will plug directly into the OEM light blue connector above the E-brake and fit directly into the controller. This will set everything up including power connections and electric brakes at the hitch. That's all you have to do and your finished!

*EDIT*
Fixed links.

Thanks
I was able to remove the unit from my other car and using the adapter plug I soldered the connectors to give me a clean cable, shrink tube and all.
then it was just plug and play
thanks for the help again
