Default patriot blue pearl coat

from what iv read the pearl coat is suppose to change the color at certain light and angles, like for one full day, my durango was a glowing medium green color not kidding. it was completly weird. Anyhow i havent had it do that again and i dont even have a hint of green at angles, why? is this normal or does it have something to do with the wax/washes i use? The car is kept clean pretty much always, expecially in the summer. Is there a way to amplify the color changing effect? Thanks.

Sounds like it's time to give her a polish and wax then.

If it is not refracting the light, then YES it needs waxed. If you just did it, sorry but it sounds like it wasn't done correctly. Also, NXT Gen is not a really good wax. Spend $150 and have it detailed professionally. See what results THEY come up with on the paint. May be the best money you spend it terms of perceived value on the vehicle.

well the paint is pretty much perfect other then light swirls, when i went to my auto body shop for a estimate to get dents popped out a week ago, the inspector right off the bat asked if i just got the car professionaly detailed, he was VERY suprised when i told him i detailed it myself, this was a week since it was washed.

At times i "MIGHT" notice a slight green hue but im not positive about this, plus i only get to see the car standing still so when its a clear sunny day the green can probaly be seen, but just not by me. The paint seems to reflect light VERY well compared to others.

Also i really love nxt 2.0 as i love the wet look it gives, could this be blocking the pearl look a bit? The one time I saw the green was when the car was washed with poor products/techniques and no wax. I know do everything MUCH better and iv been offered by MANY people to do a full detailing on their vehicles.

Maybe it is SO reflective, you are seeing the green from the surroundings in your BLUE paint.

No green was in Pat Blue from factory BTW.

i dont believe the color is supposed to change, the pearlcoat is just the way that the finish reflects/refracts the light

Correct. The factory didn't use color change paint. That's available in Tijuana and certain parts of the 'hood.
