Default Headlight film?

I have this film over both my headlights some of it has came off but there is a lot there still. I was wondering what could I use and get to take it off to give it that clear shine again? I heard the 99 D's were notorious on this too?

all D's are notorious for yellowing when left parked in the sun alot, the uv rays degrade the plastic, there are supposedly products that will restore the shine(alot of people just sand wet sand, and use a rubbing compound on the surface to get rid of it), but i just keep on top of mine with waxing whenever i do the truck and they are still showing clear just fine

For the most part yea pretty clear but I can see like on one half n half though and since I know it is there this is annoying for me that's all. I hate to really use sandpaper for that though. I can get it buffed at a shop but they want 160.00 to do it and at that price I can buy new ones.

well you could try a rubbing compound to see if that will do the trick on its own, it just might be enough, and i think a tub of it only costs like $7

mine were ok looking, my passanger side one was SLIGHTLY cloudy but not bad at all they were just plain. I bought the turtle wax headlight restoration kit, and just used the compound in it with a cheap buffer and WOW they look AWESOME! I proceded to do it to all my lights and follow up with nxt gen 2.0 tech wax by meguiars. ALL my lights look awesome now, they just pop out and scream GIVE ME ATTENTION! Expecially the grid, muti color tailights on my IROC-Z. so i say grab the kit and start off with the compound and buffer, when i did it by hand i only noticed a slight diffrence.

I use Colgate whitening toothpaste, either with the grit in it or not, just doing it by hand makes a difference. I did my Ford Van this way too. I'm gonna try a buffing wheel with it next on the Sport Trac. Oh, did the fogs too.

LMFAO you are a good one at the jokes

Honestly would I be better off in the long run getting new headlights and get ones like the HALO ones? If it isn't too hard to grind or cut I'd rather do something to save headaches in the future to be honest.

I would go with the HALO HID Convertion lights myself, but that is my taste, it all depends on if you like the look of aftermarket instead of OEM, and how much time you are willing to invest on your OEM lights.
