Unhappy Crap, It's Broken...

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango. And, it has recently started over heating. But, Not while moving only while it's idle. Any suggestions? The heating issue slows down a little when the A/C is turned off. But, there isn't much of a difference between it being on and off.

Thank You,
-Tronix

one of your fans isnt working properly, make sure that the electric fan is starting up when the A/C goes on and spin the clutch fan by hand (with the engine off) and see how far it turns, there SHOULD be some resistance there, less than 1/2 a turn is what you are looking for.

its possible, but highly unlikely since it is cooling just fine when the truck is moving, that tells me that the coolant is flowing through the radiator and is being cooled off by air movement when the truck is moving, however when he stops moving, so does the air (idk anyone who idles while driving) which means that his fans are not moving enough air over the radiator

I thought so.

Assuming you have a factory stat...Run fresh fluids and properly burp the system. If there are no hardware problems, that should/will take care of it.

doesnt this scream bad clutch fan at you indy? if it turns around twice when spun by hand? (not saying it doesnt need more, but this seems like an easier starting point)
