Default 02 Durango heat/AC fan will not run on high

The front heater/AC fan runs on all speeds but high. Any thoughts?

Im no mechanic, but im in the process of installing a new wiring pigtail/connector and blower motor resistor into my 03.
Mine went out completely, but failed 2 other times but would comeback on. i searched the forums here and found the blower motor resistor was the cause. however, once i went to take the connector it basically was melted on internally, so it would not come off. i did discover one of the leads into the connector was burnt, cleaned it up, worked for half a day.

Now the kicker, the resistor is 12 bux but the simple pigtail wiring/connector was over 100 bux...Unfortunately, no junkyard nearby has a Durango. go figure,
its cheper on ebay in the US than the dealers in Canada.

good luck if its just the resistor.

high is the only one that DOESNT work? thats odd its usually the other way around (high is the only one working) when the resistor goes out, maybe you have a bad connection in the resistor wiring? (the above mentioned resistor plug)

I have an 03 Durango and I have the same problem, only high doesn't work. If I put pressure on the resistor pigtail it works until I let the pigtail go.

it sounds like you have a bad connector, the terminals inside came loose if you replace the connector you should be fine

Xt Moto, I have the same problem as you. The blower in my 2001 4.7 has recently become hit or miss when it wants to work. The rear air still works fine which has saved me from sweating to death. What thread did you use to diagnose your problem?
