Default Automatic To Manual Trans swap.

I've got a 98 5.9 slt. Great truck, but I'd like to throw a manual trans in er.

As far as I know, I can get a manual trans from a 96 and up.

I figure I can get a used transmission and transfer case, just note sure which parts I should just go new?

Starting this next week, so need to know asap. Will post some pics after as well.

i have similar plans for mine at some point way down the road, it should work, i would use parts from a dakota of the same year if possible (find one with a 5.2 and a manual trans if possible), and you will probably need (do not quote me on this, but it is what i would get, well id buy a wreck with the trans in it so id have all the parts i needed)

1. transmission (duh)
2. t-case (prossibly)
3. driveshaft (again, only if you change the t-case)
4. hydraulic clutch assembly
5. clutch master cylinder
6. any interior trim pieces to hide the new hole you will be putting in the floorboard

like i said, i would buy a wreck which is still intact for the parts and take what i needed used, and replace some with new as i went along.

btw, they did not make the durango before 98

No D has had a factory stick. I would look for one from a Dak if you plan on a swap and it MAY work.
