Default 03 Durango What is this Switch for

I have an 03 2wd SLT + Durango and tonight i was changing out the A/C controller in the dash and found a small red toggle switch on the bottom of the kick panel directly above the gas pedal. You can switch it on and off but don't know what it goes to can someone enlighten me.

It could be an aftermarket alarm killswitch or a po's accessory switch for driving lights, or something like that.

Default ...for duramgo03...

Wow duramgo03! Your D can really haul a heavy load,( your trailer/ truck load looks stout) . How much does that whole combo weigh? I tow some pretty hefty stuff with my D "loredda" (5.2 Magnum), your engine is smaller than mine...hows it do on the hills?...kingoftow

honestly i have never seen a switch in that location, sounds like a kill switch of some sort

take a picture of where it is, and what wires it breaks and ill see if i can figure out what that wire goes to for you.

Something happened to me too. There was a switch for me there and it turned to be an alarm switch left over from the previous owner

Kingoftow my ford weighs about 6300lbs and the trailer is about 1300lbs, so about 7600 lbs +/-100lbs. It's a bit sluggish going uphill. Does fine on flat and downhill. Has 95,000 miles and still nice and strong.

Default ...Durango haulers...

Duramgo03 that's impressive... that new 4.7 really emulates it"s big brothers (5.2/5.9) I"ve always been amazed at the torque produced by these Mopar smallblocks...kingoftow
