Default Duplicolor wheel painting?

I just used duplicolor paint on my rims. Its all done now and looks good. But my question about it is this:

I forgot to wipe the sanding residue off before i painted them. I was nervous about it and i though i did everything right. But now they have this sandy finish on them. Will i be alright or will the paint start to come off really easily now? there are small parts where the rim looks really glossy and the rest because of the sanding dust looks kinda flat and isnt smooth to the touch. its dusty and kinda textured. will i be alright?

SORRY FOR LOW QUALITY PICTURES! THEY WERE TAKEN WITH MY PHONE!

It will increase the likelihood that it will chip and come off. You forgot on all four wheels? Didn't stop to check the first or the second or the third prior to the doing them all? Wow.

Don't mess with sanding and doing it all over again. Go have them powdercoated and call it a day. Much harder surface that way anyways. Consider it a lesson learned I guess. Sux.

yeah i know. I mean i didn't even realize that sanding it down was leaving that residue. it wasn't much noticeable until afterward when i realized there was a residue.

Well once the 5-7 day curing time is up i cant sand them down and re paint them? will that not work?

I suppose all i can do right now is wait and see how it looks when fully dry after a few days.

So you guys have no ideas what i can do?

Also where can i get my rims powder coated and how much will it cost?

I've been looking into getting a set of wheels powdercoated by a friend and he's gonna do it for $50-60 a wheel. I would assume most places arent much higher. but he can also remount and balance wheels/tires for me.

Yeah you know i was looking at my rims this morning after i let them sit over night and there are more parts where it is smooth and not dusty. I think it was dusty in those certain parts because they didn't get a proper coat of paint on them. I think that's the problem.

Yeah Most likely in the future i will powder coat the rims maybe next spring. I'm gonna take indydurango's word on this and call it a lesson learned and keep it in mind for the future.

why dont you give it another shot soon? i mean since the paint is still KINDA wet it should sand off much easier and this time your remember to wipe them down before lol. we all have are DUH moments.

Yeah you know I'll see what i can do with them. It seems like the sanding residue was not the problem. it was because it was too light of a coat. I think all it needs is another good coat. So it says to apply coats within the hour or else wait for the paint to cure. So that's what I'm gonna do. Next Thursday or Friday I'm gonna see how it is and possibly buy another can and apply another coat.
