Default Ambient Temp Guage

So i replaced the inside a/c temp controller in the dash this weekend and then when i got everything hooked back up it seems that the ambient temp guage has gone bad. it only shows -37 to -40 degree all the time. I have unplugged it and disconnected the battery and that still does not clear it out. I am considering replacing the guage under the hood with a new one, but was wondering it anyone else has had problems with theirs not reading correctly and how to fix it, short of replacing it. I have an 03 SLT plus if that makes a difference.

Are you talking about the overhead display?

If so do a full reset on it as that is the only way to reset it.

Hold both buttons down on say the over mileage. A couple of seconds, it resets, done.
