Default Cold air intake questions?!?

Just got back from Iraq...and my parents are celebrating by giving me their 1998 dodge durango with a 5.2 v8

Today at an auction i bought a k&n cold air intake for a 2002 dodge ram 5.9 v8...for CHEAP...new in box

here comes my question...

will it fit the durango?...i dont care about the heat seperator sheild...just the throttle body fittment. I have no clue? the durangos in the shop so i cant really check till it gets out.

guess i am a little anxious...haven't driven any of my dodges in over 300 days...

any help would be appreciated...thanks

i believe the 5.2/5.9 have the same tb mount so it should fit in that respect, however coming from a ram part the tube itself may be longer than the durango will fit since the rams are a bit bigger than the D's

btw thank you for your service to this country.

yeah i thought i might have to possibly cut the hose housing to length to get it to fit in the engine bay...just wasnt sure about the TB size...most of the stuff i have read says that they are compatable between the 5.2 and 5.9's. thanks for the info...anyone else tryed this at all?

you guys are welcome...its nice to know that the work is appreciated...thank god we are pulling out of Iraq!!!

I did a little cross referencing and was unable to dig up the same numbers for both vehicles. I think shrpshtr is right though, you may need to hack off a little from the intake tube.
GOOD LUCK!!

I have been over there twice myself (Baghdad and Ar Ramadi) glad to see your home safe man.

The TB is a different bore (I think 2mm less) but regardless, it's made of the same cast so it will work just fine..
