A/C driving me nuts
ok i've had some help from the forum so far on my a/c but now i am in need of some more.
i've replaced the compressor twice put in both expansion valves had the system evacuated and recharged but still cant get cold air temp guage says i'm only getting about 64 degrees out of the front and 70 degrees from the rear a/c
someone told me it could be a control valve ?
where is it and where can i get one i cant find it on any parts stores sites
thank you

heres an idea.. disconect ur heater lines from the heater core, then check ur air temp coming out of the vents . if its colder then the temp door in the air box under the dash isnt closing the heat side off all the way. and if that dont work . if u have a set of a/c guages check the high side and see what the head pressure is and while you have them on take a water hose and spray through the condensor the head pressure will drop and the air temp from the vents should get colder , then you have an airflow problem through the condensor or its dirty inside from previous compressor going out . just some ideas good luck
ok help LOL
i bypassed the heater core and the air got pretty cold a lot colder than before.
but the question is how in the hell do you get to the blend door area does the dash have to come out?
when i turn the temp **** i can hear it move

lol its fun time i couldnt think of the term blend door last night when i posted it but i figured you would get the idea.. the blend door should be an electrically controlled acuator ,i dont believe its vacum . you should be able to get close to it by removing the glove box or becoming a contortionist and laying in the floorboard after removing the panels from the bottom , once there simply disconnect the lil arm from the actuator and manually close the blend door by hand and sse if you get colder air , if you do then the acuator maybe faulty, if you dont then its time to tear out the airbox and have a look inside at the blend door , i dont recomend doing this if you have enver done it before it is a major pain in the !!! and it will take you some time to complete. but if you look and or ask around im sure someone has doneit before that can help you with some type of instructions.. or just do what i do start taking stuff apart till i get to what i wanted to..

On the 1998-2000 model there is a vacuum line that comes into the cab along the heater core line on the drivers side. It is a little black shinny (kinda hard) line that runs right into the back of the switch. Yes it is a vacuum switch! Then the vacuum line goes to the actuators on the heat system and operates a vacuum actuator.
The whole system is vacuum. Now if buy chance I missed on the 2000 models I am sorry but I'm pretty sure it includes that model year as well. There was a cut off date right in 2000.

yes thats on the switch that controls the vent and a/c controls to floor and all that but the temp **** does not have a vacumm line going to it it only has a cable that runs from it back to the blend door i'm assuming
