I have a new VB on its way, I found out that the suction port size is the same all the way to the pump through the case for obvious reasons.

Default Updates to my 44RE Rebuild

Been a while but I have the correct VB installed, Tranny rebuilt by me, and back in the Dingo, Took it for a test ride and it seemed to work good.
Shifts are quick & firm, all gears work, OD works too.
One problem I have and am working on is the 2nd to 3rd shift. It will shift good from 2nd to 3rd at moderate throttle, but at light throttle it takes a while and RPM's climb before it will shift. Or if I let off the gas it will klunk into 3rd. downshifts are all good.
I put a gauge on the governor pressure port and found this,
@ 0mph on speedometer w/brake applied 0PSIG
@ idle speedometer shows 20MPH steady, w/ no brake applied, 0 to 15PSIG fluctuating like a heartbeat.
@ 20MPH 25-30PSIG fluctuating
@ 40 MPH 45PSIG Steady
@ 65MPH about 65PSIG
Here is video of the gauge readings
What could cause the gauge to flutter like it does?
Any ideas are appreciated, looks like MonteC took a vacation

Thanks

Default 44RE Clutch Pack destroyed update

Greetings all,

I have some updates to an old post by me about my tranny I rebuilt, see link.
Even some governor pressure video. Just looking for opinions on the results.
I will put the new pressure solenoid and pressure sensor in tomorrow and cross my fingers.

Thanx,
Webechillin

Has the PCM had time to relearn?

Hey IndyDurango,
Not sure how long it takes the PCM to learn but I drove it for a few hours a day for 3 days, long enough to clear the O2 sensor code I had from a bad rear sensor I replaced also.

I'll go get the codes checked today, my OBD Link II - (scantool dot net scanner) does not read Chrysler enhanced codes. will not clear codes either.

Put the new pressure solenoid, and pressure sensor in yesterday and that really straightened up the governor pressure pulsations. That's a non issue now. Test drove it and tweeked the TV cable, Still have the 2nd to 3rd klunk if I let off the gas, and the 2nd to 3rd shift is too firm at normal acceleration.

When putting the transmission back together there was some doubt on the front clutch hub (small seal) installation. If I installed it backwards would I be getting these problems?

Thanks,
Webechillin
