Default Battery relocation kit?

Was curious on opinions of making/buying an battery relocation kit into the trunk.

Should take an fair amount of weight off the front end so that means better weight distribution but im still trying to figure out if it would help peformance one bit at all (im thinking take off as the weight in over your rear tires) but im not sure.

So anyhow yes or no? And if I should do it were should i buy the stuff? Summit racing? Thanks.

actually just checked the prices on summit for relocation kits and WOW 80+ bucks! But those include an bunch of extra stuff i dont absolutely need, So if i was to go to shucks and ask for battery cables, what gauge do i need and about how long of wires?

U are kindling the weight of the size of wire you will need to install to keep the voltage drop form affecting you stater performance plus the alt. Will more then exceed any benefit you will have. I would like to know the weight of your battery. If you what weight over the rear just add a couple of sand bags.

I have no idea the weight of the battery, but im thinking with relocating the rear, since less weight is on the front, it will make your off the line acceleration an bit quicker as it has less weight to move from the beginnig, but of course im probaly wrong though. how heavy would the wires be that i would need?

It would also possibly make room to allow an dual snorkal ram air/cai.

I just reread my post sorry if it seamed a bit harsh. I did not mean it to be. The Durango has a history of battery problems and you will just be adding to it with this change. Computer electronics need to have good voltage and amps from the battery it is not like it was 15 years ago.

Its fine, well the battery is an brand new les shwab extreme batter (Top of line for theirs) so i would imagine it should still be able to transfer power just fine. Also would an redtop battery be worth the extra 60 bucks or would it only be an few lbs lighter?

also quick off topic question, if i was looking for an oval air filter for an homemade cai, does it matter what the length/width is or is there basically no diffrence in how much air is going be in there and how quick, im guessing no?

Now I see why you what to relocate your battery. As far as your homemade intake take the measurements to your locale auto parts store and see what will fit. I still think you are asking for trouble. Please let me know how you make out.

The cai wasnt my main point, it was just an though. So any suggestions on the red top? If theres no diffrene in peformance for outside of filter, i'll go with the smaller sized ones as well frankly, there cheaper haha.

Im thinking this filter should do me good, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KNN-RB-0900/
