I'm having a shop replace my stock Infinity stereo with an aftermarket JVC in my 2000 Durango SLT. The shop stated that they really really really recommended that the stock 2 ohm Infinity speakers be replaced with 4 ohm aftermarket ones. They said the JVC stereo may blow out the Infinity speakers.

Does what they are saying about replacing the speakers make sense?

 

if the headunit was designed to run 4 ohm speakers then yes it makes sense (as long as i am remembering correctly)
