looks good, 1 thing though, you might want to consider atleast wrapping the bottom of the chrome pipes with an heat blanket as after an while with the engine warmed up theres the possibility of heating up the incoming air and doing more harm then good.

Also did you remove the splash guard infront of where you placed the filter, I assume so but just checking.

Thanks for the tip, Luxary. i'll pick up some heat blanket soon. also i didn't see any splash guard. The only thing i can think of is underneath the truck directly under the engine bay. but that's fairly large in a sense.

Where is the splash guard you're talking about?

the rubber piece on the passenger side of the radiator btwn the radiator and the headlight, alot of people take it off to let more air into the engine bay

Here's a link to the DIY/FAQ section on the front index page. Scroll down o the middle of it and you'll see a section called 'Custom cold air intake", click on the links and you just might have a few ideas for a cheap and effective project for your air intake. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...wers-faqs.html

Does anyone know where I can purchase an carb style round air intake? But one that is factory modified to connect to a TB other then an carb.

I understand theres the possibilty of heatsoak issue, but I know i could either make a shield around the air intake that is only opened at the back of the hood (i removed the weather stripping there) or iv seen seveal carb intakes come with the shield already.

Im not set on purchasing one of these air intakes but I would like to compare prices and whatnot to a convential fuel injection CAI, thanks.

Im talking about something simlar to whats in the link.... just rather not spend $250 haha.

i would NOT take the rubber weatherstipping off the windshield side of the hood, this will allow too much water in when the truck is parked and there are some electronics mounted the firewall underthat which stay pretty dry with that strip in place, put it back on and get a functional ram air hood or a cowl hood if you want that kind of effect, something designed to deal with the water

ajoshi, the cai looks real nice but you should clean some of the dirt out of your engine bay now to give that finished look. I spray purple power cleaner/degreaser on my engine while it is off and let it sit for a few mins then start the engine hose it off with the garden hose each time I wash my D. It keeps it clean and easy to work on when needed and besides dirt just isn't any good for the engine.
