Unhappy Passenger door won't open

2000 D with power door locks. The rear passenger door will not open. I have removed the door panel enough to get to the latch and tried to manually open no luck
Thinking I can remove the trim panel behind the door and cut or grind off the striker bolts.
Any thoughts?
I'm not in a big hurry but would like to get some feedback or better ideas.
This is the Wife's D and she not to upset YET!

so let me clarify, you cannot get the back door open? if that is the case getting the interior panesl off is going to be VERY difficult, since the screws across the bottom are below the door sill, what it sounds to me like happened is that the door lock actuator jammed and if it unlocked you would be able to open the door.

Ya can't open the door. I did get the panel off enough to check that all the door rods were in place and they are. I can reach the actuator but no luck.
I'm sure the latch is bad but can't replace it until I can open the door.

Thanks for the reply.

roll the window all the way down.. hold the lock thing on the inside up and try to open the door from the outside.. give it a few good hip bumps to try and knock it around.. this is what I have to do on my neon's back door.. good luck getting it open..
sounds crazy but i gotta bring it up - make sure no one engaged the child safety locks..
good luck

The child safety locks aren't on. I have seen these actuators and I sure some plastic part is broke. It is just not unlocking. I'll get it fixed just not right away. I'll post back what I have to do but work is busy now and it will be in November before I can try.
I think I'll have to grind and drill out the striker plate. Thanks for all your replays
I asked the wife if I could take a crow bar to it and she disagrees
