Default this darn chime

gotta 98 d 5.2 i will be driving like normal then i get the chime that sounds like the dummy gas light turns on.but there isnt nothing laminated.no lights saying anything.no check engine no door ajar.nothing whats going on.

check ALL of your gauges when this happens, especially the oil pressure, water temp, and battery, if any are pegged (low or high) that is were to start looking

Sounds like a bad cell in the battery. If you have a "floating" cell if you hit a bump just right it can jar the cell and it tilts over and grounds the battery therefore grounding the system. This causes the system to think you turned off and on the key switch and all the lights will come on and it will chime.

Go have your battery load tested to confirm.
