if you kinked the line when you bent it it needs to be replaced 100%, if not then its your call, i would have ordered the correct part for that from the beginning
If the pressure was restricted could it cause this problem? Should I order the original pre-bent line? I read the band adjustment instructions and was wondering why after you torgue the band that you have to back it off two turns?
Because you torque the band around the clutch. Now the clutch still needs to be able to spin so you can leave it there in that fashion it cannot spin cause it's tied down. It has to be able to spin, so you back it off. The actual adjustment is actually the room that is between the band and the clutch.
Thanks for the band adjust info. I agree that I should have used a prebent line but the dealer here said 2 weeks and I was in a pinch. I'm sure all the bends are not perfectly round. They want $100 for the line here at the dealer. Does anyone know a cheaper place? I'm here in Canada and the auto parts places that carry these parts are few and far between. The line comes from the rad to the drivers side tranny, can someone tell me what that line is called?
Well you can always use a rubber line that is reinforced for transmissions and flare the ends of the line a little and use a stainless worm drive clamp to hold it back. Ask your local hose shop and I'm sure they can build ya one or something better.
That is an idea but the line runs right under the manifold so I'm wondering if the rubber would last? The last four times I'be driven the truck there hasn't been a problem.
