Default suspension lift question

I have seen a couple of suspension lifts available out there for the 1998-1999 dodge durango 4x4. tuff country makes a 5.5 inch lift, why is it only available for the 1998-1999 model? isnt it the same car from 1998-2003? so why dont these work for the 200-2003 models?

i believe they changed the steering setup in 00 and the new steering is not compatible with the lift kit (im not 100% sure that this the reason, but it does make sense to me)

When they changed over to Rack & Pinion there was a large change and I think that was in fact 2000. However I thought lift kits were still available for everything accept the R/T model yet other users have still installed them.

Personally, I would just do the T/S lift and a body lift and be done with it and have a stronger lift.

Correct. The Durango steering switch over to R&P was for the 2000 model year. Changed the overflow/fan shroud, rear washer fluid setup and aux efan then too.

2001 then saw the interior refresh and 2003 got the brake upgrades.
