Default need help

Hi everyone I have a noise when I back up.It makes a banging noise when i back up slowly.I just did the front brakes.The noise is coming from the front drivers side tire or in that general area.it goes away going forward.thanks for the help.Bill

Loose caliper? Bolts? Pads? Any one of those is bad news. I'd suggest you get that checked out right away.

It was making the noise before I did the brakes and it did the same thing after changing the brakes.I have to change the drivers side caliper today it froze up.Had to call AAA to have the car towed home.

brake lines going bad could be a major cause of the calipers freezing up.. you might wanna replace those too..

i second sumamerican, the brake lines collapse from the inside out that could very likely be the cause of the caliper freezing up

When I did the brakes on the drivers side caliper the rubber boot on the piston was damaged.I think thats what is the problem with that I'm going to replace the caliper today.

yup, is the piston is damaged i would recommend replacing the caliper, however if it keeps happening after the new caliper is on then change out the brake lines

Ok the brakes are ok new pads rotors and caliper on drivers side drove car drove great but the noise is still there. only when I back up.the hub was replaced a few years ago on drivers side I did the other side last year.Any help.Thanks Bill

check the balljoints, tie rod ends, and the a-arm connections to the frame and make sure all the bolts up there are tight
