Default Engine Change

I have a 2002 Durango with the 4.7 that is dead!!! Instead of the 4.7 can I replace it with the 5.9??? The 5.9 is cheaper and alot less trouble than the 4.7.

Thanks

technically, yes

HOWEVER i would NOT recommend it as in order to put a 5.9 into your truck you would need to replace the engine (duh), wiring harness, pcm, motor mounts, transmission and t-case (might as well just replace the driveline at this point). so in reality, NO it is NOT cheaper to put a 5.9 in than to replace with a 4.7

Practically, as indicated, no.

You need the engine AND transmission to do that.

Pull your own 4.7L for $189. That's not expensive.

Pull and rebuild YOUR engine and slap it back in. Then ya know what ya got!
