Default 5.9 waterpump replacement

Do you have to remove the accessory backet to replace the pump?

Thanks, Les

no.. but it will make it a heck of a lot easier.. i've done it once with and once without.. as long as you keep the A/C lines all plugged in and just move the whole thing to the side you should be fine..

On the 5.9L you can just move the A/C out of the way without disconnecting it, Remove the fan belt, alternator, Fan, Upper heater hose and T-stat, Thermo-water sensor and you should be about there. Really easy in fact.

I removed it. Figured I'd better replace the bypass hose as long as I was there.

+1

Might wanna replace the bottom radiator hose while your there anyway. The top can be done at any time but the lower is a PITA.

Remember to use 50/50 coolant or coolant and distilled water not regular water.
