Tranny maintenance ?
Im just wondering what its gonna cost me to have a mechanic shop change my tranny fluid ,filter, diff, and transfer case fluid. Also wanna have my bands adjusted. I know most of you probally do this yourself, but i know a few have had to take it to a shop one time or another.
I just wanna ball park figure.
O, also wanna have them install a drain plug, so i'd wanna change my own fluid in the future.
Once i get this taken care of i can start with some mods
, cant wait cuz i love my D the more and more i drive it.

99 SLT w/5.9l 4x4.
could you give me a complete list of the things i would provide? I ask because i wanna have this done correctly, and as cheap as possible(im only 24, supporting myself, not a whole lotta money to go around).
Also, would it save me some money if i just had the tranny fluid/filter changed, and bands adjusted, how much in your opinion would this run me. What fluid atf+4, what brand? How much? what brand of filter?
Is the transfer case fluid as easy as this: http://www.ehow.com/how_4830936_chan...ase-fluid.html?
Any specifics on what fluid, and how much, as ive never done this before, my first 4wheel drv. Also i cant imagine being able to fill with a funnel under there, or can you access it from engine bay?
How about the diffs, what fluid for them, and how much for each. As ive never done this before, how do you drain them first of ALL, drain plug? When adding fluid you just fill them all the way up, right?
Whole lotta noob questions, but i have to learn some how.

Yes the T-case is that easy but you will need a cone nipple like that on a bottle of 90W-80 gear oil on the top of the ATF+4 Fluid bottle. Yes the T-Case takes ATF+4. Just get some Valvoline about 2 quarts and you will want to pick up a little clear hose to attach to the cone so you can get the new fluid bac in it. Fill to the bottom of the top fill plug. You might see a little fluid come out and that is ok.
Transmission needs ATF+4 about 8 quarts and a new filter. Dealer ship our your local parts store. Again I like Valvoline. Best bet is to take it in and have a professional do this for you. About $130. Ensure they only use ATF+4 fluid ONLY!
Rear Diff is like 3-4 quarts 80W-90 I like Mobil One. If you have a Limited Slip Rear end then install the 7oz bottle of Friction Modified first before fill up. Auto Zone has this for $4.99, use entire bottle. Fill to the bottom of the fill plug.
Front is about 2 quarts 80W-90 I like Mobil One. Fill to the bottom of the fill plug.
Get a manual and it will tell and show you how to do this.

Fully Synthetic versions are 75W-90, and that replaces the 80W-90 conventional version of oil. The reason theat 75W-90 Fully Syinthetic was placed in the rear on OEM in the Chrysler 9.25 rear differential was because that differential was meant for towing so it had a better oil from the factory that could handle the shearing that regular conventional oil breaks down from the added heat and ware. The Chrysler 9.25 differential was the rear differential, and that is why it had the Fully Synthetic oil, where the front was not subjected to towing heat like the rear so it didn't need the extra protection.
